Back Early

I got back from vacation a bit early (running out of money - vacations are expensive!) but I did get to run through a little bit of lope country while I was gone. Saw several good bucks in 5A and some others in 19A and 10. We drove through a good portion of the Navajo Indian Reservation (to see Canyon De Chelly, Four Corners, Monument Valley, etc...) and I was very depressed during the drive. It appears that much of the Navajo is antelope "country" yet there were no antelope anywhere to be seen! It was sad to see so much beautiful country uninhabited by antelope.

The buck below is one of the better bucks I saw on the trip - and also one of the better pictures I took of a buck (unfortunately - none of the bucks would let me very close.)

My Dad and I are going to New Mexico on June 6th for a week long scouting trip. I'll definitely have some "keeper" pictures when I return...and hopefully some of some giant antelope!

Scout

I'm going on a 13 day vacation tomorrow across Arizona to see some of the cool sites the state has to offer. Fortunately for me (unfortunate for my female passenger) a lot of the great sites are in or near antelope country! When I return I plan on having taken thousands of pictures and presenting some of the better ones. Check back when I do!

Early Photos

Here are a few bucks from my first trip out this year! It was definitely fun. The wind was incredible and the bucks were far and few between in most of the units I was in. There were a few that stood still long enough for a photo and those are the ones above. I will try to get my photo technique down and, when I do, I hope to have some exceptional photos for sale on our website! And don't worry - the photos won't be of small antelope like you usually see in the good photos in the magazines. These photos will be special - hopefully I can find some bucks that will score over 90 inches and those will be the photos I put in the series. I'll think on it some more, but it could be the first photo collection of it's kind and hopefully the quality will be as good as I can see it in my mind!
